using png format

    The docs says you need libpng installed to use png and I have ::
            /usr/local/include/libpng
            /usr/local/include/libpng/png.h
            /usr/local/include/libpng/pngconf.h
            /usr/local/lib/libpng.a
            /usr/local/lib/libpng.so
            /usr/local/lib/libpng.so.5

    When I execute the script I get::
            format not supported at ./public_html/mkimg.cgi line 59.
    Line 59 is :
            $img->write(type=>'png', data=>\$data) or die $img->errstr;
    If I change 'png' to 'bmp' it works perfect.

    Any ideas what is keeping me from using png? And how to get it working?
